Our April speaker was Amanda McMullen, President & CEO of the New Bedford Whaling Museum. Her presentation offered a compelling look at the museum’s history, mission, and future direction. The organization—formally known as The Dartmouth Historical Society—has broadened its educational focus well beyond traditional maritime history.

Members were especially intrigued to learn how the museum interprets cultural education through music, food, art, and hands‑on experiences, including explorable replicas such as a life‑sized whale heart.
